Catcher with a batting average of 95 percent, 6.5 billion, is there any problem with the opening game just around the corner…"There's no trade"

With the opening game of the regular season just around the corner, LG Twins catcher Park Dong-won of the professional baseball league has hardly felt a rise in batting. It is an exhibition game that does not mean much to the performance and adjusts the condition, but the batting average is less than 10%.

Park started as catcher No. 7 at an exhibition game against the NC Dinos at Jamsil Stadium in Seoul on Tuesday. He had no hit in three times at bat. His batting average at exhibition games dropped to 95.

It was a chance from the first at-bat in the second inning. With the bases loaded with no outs, Park was out after a short fly ball in front of the left field, and Park came to the batter's box with one out. However, Park was out after an in-field fly by the third baseman. In the end, LG failed to score a single run with the bases loaded with no outs.바카라

He targeted the first pitch (curve) with two outs and a runner on the second base in the fourth inning, but was grounded out to the third base. As a leadoff man in the sixth inning, he struck out swinging. He finished the game after being replaced by backup catcher Lee Ju-hun in the top of the seventh inning.

At exhibition games, Park recorded two hits in 21 at-bats for a batting average of 955, three walks and nine strikeouts. Coach Yeom Kyung-yeop said during the exhibition game, "I am worried that Park Dong-won and Shin Min-jae's batting performance did not increase."

Shin has a batting average of 185, or five hits in 27 times at bat. Among the key players, Hong has had no hit in the last three consecutive games, dropping to a batting average of 192, or five hits in 26 times at bat.

Park Dong-won is a key player among fielders. Not only hitting but also playing a big role as a catcher. After the end of the last season, LG excluded veteran backup catcher Heo Do-hwan from the list of players to renew his contract, and Heo retired and started his second career as a commentator.

Lee Joo-heon, 22, who has only three career games in the first division, has been selected as the backup catcher to support Park Dong-won. Lee joined the rookie draft in the second and third rounds in 2022, and Lee returned to the military last year after finishing his mandatory military service. He made his debut as a call-up to the first team at the end of this season, and recorded four hits in six at-bats (batting average .667) in three games. He played 14 innings as a catcher.

Kim Bum-suk, a promising catcher who joined the team as the seventh-ranked player in the first round of 2023, showed stellar performance early last year, but played more games as a designated hitter and first baseman than as a catcher due to weight issues. He played 47.1 innings in 13 games while wearing a catcher's mask. He started his season in the second division this season.

Manager Yeom Kyung-yeop stressed that Park Dong-won's role is great for the new foreign pitcher Chirinos to adapt to the league and the step-up of bullpen pitchers this season. After Chirinos took the mound in their first exhibition game, manager Yeom said, "In the case of Chirinos, there will be a lot of dependence on Dong-won," emphasizing Park Dong-won's lead over the utilization of Chirinos' four hearts and two minds.

Manager Yeom also said, "Dongwon's role is very big this season. Because pitchers who need to grow are on the edge of it, and how Dongwon takes the ball mix and creates success experiences for those players makes a decision whether or not to make a pitcher. This year, Dongwon is a little tired, but he has to pay a lot of attention, and Dongwon has to be good."

Regarding rumors of a catcher trade, LG said, "There is no trade discussion." Park Dong-won, who played 944.2 innings last year, should play well in offense and defense this season.
